Construction continues this week on the exterior of The Park On Main Hotel® as crews work around a second week of high winds now coupled with heavy rain storms.
The work this week included installing the exterior iron hand rails on all the balconies.
Now that the foundation of the garden terrace is in place, the space is being prepped for concrete next week to complete the deck area. Once complete, the garden terrace area will be a focal point for our guests to enjoy the charming atmosphere from their overlooking balconies.
The network of exterior walkways throughout the hotel will begin to take shape early next week. The walkways will later be outfitted with a stone overlay to compliment the stone trim of the building’s exterior.
A major milestone this week has been inspecting the 24 guest suites for minor issues. This step is called a punch list and generally requires just a quick fix or dab of paint. The hotel’s building contractor is on target to have this short list completed by early next week as well.
After the suites are given a final inspection, it will be time to begin decorating each space. It’s a sign we are getting closer to our June 2014 grand opening! We are excited and hope our guests and the community will find The Park On Main® Hotel a great addition to Highlands and the surrounding region.
This week, we also formerly introduced Mr. Pickles, the hotel’s mascot. The black Scottish terrier is also helping spread the word about The Park On Main® Hotel through his Twitter page @MrPicklesOnMain. Our hotel is pet-friendly and Mr. Pickles will visit during special occasions to greet guests.
Check back with us soon to learn about how work is progressing at the hotel as we prepare to welcome you to The Park On Main®!
