With just weeks to go before our anticipated June 2014 unveiling of The Park On Main®, our construction crews are working long hours to make sure everything is in place and ready to welcome our guests to their luxurious accommodations.
The quaint hotel, formerly the Highlands Suite Hotel, has undergone a major renovation from floor to ceiling. The first step was to completely gut the structure down to the foundation and start anew. We are now in the final phases of the construction project.
Bathrooms in each of the suites are appointed with new sinks, toilets and showers all adding to the stylish design of the room. In addition, guests will find our exclusive line of toiletries in their bathrooms to include shampoos, soaps, and lotions. So if you forget to pack your own, you may enjoy using our custom soaps during your stay with us.
Speaking of your stay with us, we are gearing up to begin taking reservations. Check back soon for more details as you begin planning your visit to the area.
What We’re Working On:
This week, we were able to complete interior construction in 15 of the hotel’s 24 luxury suites. All of the rooms have been outfitted with wood floors and the interior walls are painted. The remaining rooms are expected to be finalized in the coming week. The next step will be furnishing the rooms and adding our signature décor to showcase the elegance and charm of the hotel.
The foundation of the garden terrace area was completed this week. It’s anticipated that the remaining infrastructure of the area will be done by the end of next week. The garden terrace, while picturesque, will also serve as a cover to the hotel’s parking area below.
We hope our guests will find the intricate iron hand rails along the balconies and overlook areas to be a charming feature we’ve added to the hotel. The overlooks are designed for guests to enjoy the view of the garden terrace, which will be the crown jewel of the property.
This week brought high winds to the area, which delayed the progress of painting the hotel’s exterior. We expect to complete the exterior painting within the next week.
Our lobby area is about 80-percent complete as we end the week. The remaining work will include installing the flooring and counter tops. Our guest elevator was also installed this week.
The shipment of televisions for the guest rooms arrived this week, which are scheduled to be installed once each room is furnished.
We are also working to install our state-of-the art key system to our rooms known as proximity readers. All of the guest key cards have been received, along with the “Do Not Disturb” door hangers. Both the key cards and door hangers are designed with an image of Mr. Pickles, a black Scottish terrier, who serves as the mascot for The Park On Main®. He will visit the hotel during special occasions to check things out and greet our guests.
