Halloween at The Park On Main Hotel® was a success! It’s estimated over 1,000 trick-or-treaters came through our lobby during our Howl-O-Ween Party this year as part of the annual Highlands Halloween event.
Although the weather turned chilly, which later produced the first snow fall of the season, it did not stop everyone from enjoying the festivities. Our lobby was transformed into a haunted mansion. Hotel guests and staff also got in on the fun and were able to enjoy an assortment of Halloween-themed treats masquerading as hors d’oeuvres.
Many local Highlands residents stopped by to warm up a bit and to see the hotel for the first time since our opening this summer.
The evening also included our first Best Dog Costume Contest. A total of 10 dogs, including two pairs, comprised the field for judging. The dog costumes ranged from Spider Dog, a ghost, terriers dressed in traditional Scottish attire, and dancing dogs to name a few. The dogs seemed to enjoy all the attention and embraced their costume characters.
A local border collie named Christian, owned by Highlands’ resident Jackie Powell, took top honors in the dog costume contest dressed as a ghost. Christian received a basket filled with various treats, toys and goodies. Powell was also awarded a gift certificate for a free night’s stay at The Park On Main Hotel®.
Thanks to everyone who stopped by for trick-or-treats and all those who participated in the dog costume contest. It was a fun community event and we’re looking forward to others in coming weeks including the Christmas parade and Christmas tree lighting.
